World-class Indian Kabaddi player and former World Cup-winning captain, Arun Kumar took retirement from the Kabbadi sport with immediate effect on 20th December 2018 after 15-years of a glorified sporting career.

Arun Kumar (35-years-old), known to be one of the most legendary players, has led his team to victory on several occasions and contributed to the overall growth of the sport in the nation.

Arun Kumar was a member of the India national kabaddi team that won Asian gold medals in 2010 and 2014, one South Asian gold medal in 2016.

Arun Kumar also captained Indian National Kabaddi Team in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. He is one of the most successful raiders of Pro Kabaddi League and International Kabaddi. 

Arun Kumar has led the U Mumba franchise for the first five years taking the side to three consecutive finals, a record that has not been achieved by any other captain in the league. He was the highest points scorer in the inaugural season of the PKL with a tally of 169 points.

At this year's PKL Auction, he was picked by Jaipur Pink Panthers and was handed the role of the captain.

Arun Kumar received with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2012 for his exceptional contribution to Kabaddi in India.
