Ayush Ministry, Union Ministers Jitendra Singh, and Shripad Yesso Naik laid the foundation stone of Institute of High-Altitude Medicinal Plants (IHAMP) on 16th December 2018.
The Institute of High-Altitude Medicinal Plants will be located in Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir.
The IHAMP aims to provide research in medicinal plants and promote cultivation of medicinal plants. The institute will also provide employment and promote medicinal plant in the foreign market.
The estimated cost of the construction of the Institute of High-Altitude Medicinal Plants is Rs 100 crore.
Institute of High-Altitude Medicinal Plants will focus upon a pioneer in research on medicinal plants. It will help the farmers in cultivation of medicinal plants in a scientific manner. Training and capacity-building in the field of medicinal plants will also generate employment opportunity for youth in the region.
