United States Announces $5 Million Reward for Information on 26/11 Mumbai Attacks Perpetrators: Details, Highlights

The United States, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today on 26th November 2018 called upon Pakistan and other nations to uphold their UN Security Council obligations to implement sanctions against those responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and its affiliates.

Describing the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack as a barbarity Mike Pompeo said in a statement on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack it is an affront to the families of the victims that, after ten years, those who planned the Mumbai attack have still not been convicted for their involvement. 

US Senate Mike Pompeo said the United States is committed to seeing that those responsible for the 26/11 attack could face justice. 

US Senate Mike Pompeo offered a new reward of USD 5 million under Rewards for Justice programme for information on 26/11 perpetrators.

Background

The US Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service administers the Rewards for Justice (RFJ) programme. Since its inception in 1984, the programme has paid over USD 150 million to more than 100 people who provided actionable information that helped bring terrorists to justice or prevented acts of international terrorism worldwide.

Six Americans were killed in 26/11 terror strikes, namely, Ben Zion Chroman, Gavriel Holtzberg, Sandeep Jeswani, Alan Scherr, Naomi Scherr, and Aryeh Leibish Teitelbaum.
