Thanksgiving Day 26th November is a national holiday in United States, Canada and other Caribbean areas.
It is celebrated as a day of giving thanks to the poor, needy and giving charitable contributions in general.
Congregates attend church festival to give thanks to God and seek his blessings.
Families gather together for a turkey dinner and assorted traditional side dishes.
The first Thanksgiving Day occurred in the year 1621 when Plymouth Pilgrim Community joined a feast with Indian community to celebrate the harvest of Colonials crops.
Around 93 Indians and 53 pilgrims feasted at three day event and was a official day to thank god for his blessings.
On this day, prayers of thanks and thanksgiving ceremonies are held in almost all religions.
