Search engine giant Google is celebrating the 'Children's Day 2018' with a theme colorful doodle on a 14th November 2018. The theme for the doodle this year was “what inspires you”.
Today, Google doodle has showcased an animated image of the galaxy and space exploration as its doodle in celebration of Children’s Day 2018. The doodle letters G-o-o-g-l-e was created using crayons, clay, watercolors, and graphic design.
Earlier, Google had announced an annual competition ‘Doodle 4 Google’ in August to encourage creative, art-loving students across India to bring their imagination to life for the search engine’s logo for which 20 children were shortlisted.
Children from various schools were given a chance to take part, and from the doodle on its page, it appears the winner of the contest is Pingla Rahul More from the JB Vachha High School in Mumbai.
Google has chosen this doodle on the basis of the most number of votes it got online, and the national winner wins a Rs 5 lakh college scholarship, a Rs 2 lakh technology package for their school, as well as a trip to the Google office in India, among other prizes.
Children’s day, also known as Bal Divas, is celebrated on 14 November every year in India to increase the awareness of people towards the rights, care, and education of children. It aims to pay tribute to the memory of late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.
Whereas, Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November around the world every year. It was established by the United Nations in 1954. The day aims to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
