Ministry of Indian Railways declares the no Service tax to be charged on the online booking of tickets till 31st December 2016.
The ticket booking through IRCTC would be cheap due to no charge of service tax.
The government aims to promote cashless economy therefore has taken this decision.
Rs.20 service tax on sleeper clas and Rs.40 service tax on AC class charged
The ticket booking on sleeper class is charged Rs.20 service tax while in AC class Rs.40 service tax is charged from the consumers.
The official of Rail Ministry declares that from 23rd November to 31st December 2016 no service tax to be charged from the consumers.
Official also stated that to promote cashless economy the government has taken this step.
Due to note ban the ticket booking at the stations has increased and to lessen the crowd at the stations for ticket booking the Ministry has taken this step.
