About NATO’s biggest military exercise 'Trident Juncture 2018' in Norway: Details, Aim, Highlights

NATO’s (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) 'Trident Juncture 2018' or (TRJE 18) military exercise is being held in Norway.

The Trident Juncture 2018 is the NATO’s biggest military exercise since the Cold War. It is scheduled to be held from 25 October–23 November 2018.

The NATO's Trident Juncture 2018 military exercise will see the participation of nearly 50,000 personnel from all 29 NATO allies. Besides, partners Finland and Sweden, are also taking part.

In the NATO's Trident Juncture 2018 military exercise, around 65 vessels, 150 aircraft, and 10,000 vehicles are taking part. The military exercise will be conducted in central and eastern Norway, the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea.

The NATO's Trident Juncture 2018 military exercise aims to train the Alliance to mobilise quickly to defend an ally under attack. It will focus on the Deployment of NATO forces, train the NATO Response Force, winter training and prepare them for the Cold War and for difficult terrain.

Russia, which shares a border with Norway, was invited to monitor the exercise, but Moscow is still angered by the exercise.
