Minal Patel Davis was presented with the award by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for her extraordinary contribution towards combating human trafficking.
US Presidential Medal is the US’s highest honor in the field.
Minal Patel Davis is a special advisor on Human Trafficking to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. She was appointed to this post in July 2015 and since then she has made a local impact on human trafficking in America’s fourth largest city.
Minal Patel Davis has achieved this from a policy-level perspective and by helped in advancing systems change.
Minal Patel Davis is currently implementing Mayor Turner’s Anti-Human Trafficking Strategic Plan, which is the first comprehensive municipal response to human trafficking by US city.
Minal Patel Davis is an MBA from the University of Connecticut and BA from New York University.
Earlier, Minal Patel Davis was also a past speaker at United Nations World Humanitarian Summit.
