Th QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the global higher education think tank, has released “QS India University Rankings 2019”, it's the first-ever ranking of India’s higher education institutions.
The QS rankings include Public Universities, Private Universities, and Higher Educational Institutions or Deemed Universities.
IIT Bombay has been named India’s leading institution and 8th among BRICS nation.
In the QS rankings BRICS countries ranking, out of the top 10 universities, 7 are from China with Tsinghua University tops the list.
About 403 universities in the five BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – were considered for this year’s rankings which is up from 300 in 2017.
