Amendment of Child Labour Act 2016 by Government for Adolescence

 

 

The Government of India passes Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2016

According to this Amendment Act, the employment of children below 14 years is prohibited.

The employment of age group from 14 to 18 years in hazardous occupations is completely prohibited.

The Amendment Act regulate the working conditions of Adolescence age group

The Act also provides strict punishment for employers for violation of act and making the offence for employing any child or adolescence in violation of act.

The action plan for this Child Labour Amendment act has been circulated to all the states and Union territories for implementation of Act.

As per the survey in the year 2011, 43.53 lakh main workers in the age group 5-14 years were employed in the country.
