Social Security Coverage Schemes under Unorganised Workers Act

 

 

Government launches Social Security scheme under Unorganised Workers Security Act 2008

Government of India has passed the Unorganised Worker's Security Act, 2008 for formation of suitable welfare schemes of unorganised workers.

Social Security Coverage schemes provide benefit for unorganised workers relating to life and disability cover, health and maternity benefits, old age protection and other schemes.

The Government of India has formulated various schemes under Schedule-I of Unorganised Worker's Security Act, 2008

Under Ministry of Rural development, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme.

Ministry of Rural Development National Family Benefit scheme is launched.

Under Ministry of Health and Welfare, two schemes are launched Janani Suraksha Yojana and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana.

Under Ministry of Textiles, Handloom Weavers’ Welfare scheme, Artisan Comprehensive Welfare Scheme and Pension to Master Craft are launched.
