World Alzheimer's Day observed on 21 September: Details, Aim, History

World Alzheimer’s Day is a health awareness day observed every year on 21st September across the world.

World Alzheimer’s Day marked annually aimed at raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia disease.

World Alzheimer’s Day originally is part of World Alzheimer’s Month, where organizations coordinate to create global messages about dementia for the media, key stakeholders and policy makers. 

World Alzheimer’s Day is celebrated by denoting money to the trusted organizations, those who are working in educating people worldwide about this dangerous epidemic. Also, many events and seminars are conducted to spread awareness about the Alzheimer's & dementia disease.

World Alzheimer’s Day was first launched in 1994 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alzheimer Disease International (ADI) association, which empowers other organizations with research and updated knowledge about Alzheimer’s and dementia.

ADI is the international federation of Alzheimer associations around the world, in official relations with the World Health Organization. It holds international conferences and helping in educating people about the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia and what people can do about it. 

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive and chronic neurodegenerative disease that destroys memory and other critical mental functions.

According to the Alzheimer Disease International (ADI) report, every three seconds someone in the world develops Dementia & Alzheimer’s,
