Maharashtra government on 20th September 2018 has announced the proposal of construction of new Cyber University in the state.
The proposal to construct new Cyber University in Maharashtra is aimed at mitigating cyber threats. It supports 'Cyber Safe India' initiative.
Approx an estimated cost for the phase I of the project is Rs.80 crores.
The Cyber University in Maharashtra is believed to provide the following:
Training of 3000 professionals
Fight online cyber attacks
Conduct cyber forensics
Provide training on 15 other IOT areas such as Data analytics etc.
The certification would be along the lines of Microsoft Certified Professional Program.
According to Symantec’s analysis in April, India is the 3rd most vulnerable country for risk of cyber-attack.
This is a part of the state’s aim to set up Indian Computer Emergency Response Team.
