ISRO’s Technology Incubation Centre inaugurated in Agartala, Tripura: Details, Purpose, Highlights

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Technology Incubation Centre in Agartala, through video-conferencing from Bengaluru.

The ISRO Technology Incubation Centre has been developed at the campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala.

The ISRO Technology Incubation Centre was launched at the 1st edition of ‘SPACETRONICS’ organised by the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA).

The ISRO Technology Incubation Centre will provide Tripura with an opportunity to steer ahead in the Information Technology (IT) and manufacturing sectors

ISRO would incubate start-ups that could build applications, provide services and products that can be used internally and utilise opportunities globally.

Within the next six months, ISRO also plans to set up five more space technology incubation centres at Jalandhar in Punjab, Bhubaneswar in Odisha, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu.

ISRO is also planning to set up regional academic centres for space research at state-run universities in Jaipur in Rajasthan, Patna in Bihar, Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Kurukshetra in Haryana and Guwahati in Assam
