Note Ban: Indian Air Force support RBI to carry cash to bank, ATM

 

 

Government taking help from Indian Air Force to carry cash through helicopters to banks ATMs

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has decided to take the help of India Air Force to transport Rs.500 and Rs.2000 new denomination notes at the banks.

The Finance Ministry stated that there is enough cash in the system and delivery channels are being enlarged across the country.

Reserve Bank of India has already sent new currency to the ATMs and Banks through helicopters in Jharkhand

The Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das stated that it has been decided to activate all the channels to release cash.

Secretary also stated that in rural areas the cash holding limit for 1.2 lakh banking correspondents has been increased to Rs.50000 and banks are given permission to increase the rate as per case.

In rural areas, 2.5 lakh delivery points would be able to give bigger importance of cash to the public.
