Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) confirmed that Hangzhou in China will host the 4th edition of Asian Para Games in 2022.
Earlier, Hangzhou was confirmed as the host of 2022 Asian Games. Now, it has also been announced as the host of Asian Para Games 2022.
The confirmation has been done following the visit of APC officials to Hangzhou in July 2018 when they met Zhong Wenjing, Chairman of Hangzhou Disabled Federation and other officials and also visited the sports facilities.
Nearly, 5.5 % of the total population of 9.5 million people in Hangzhou city are said to have an impairment.
The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) was formed on 30 October 2002 in Busan, Republic of Korea, following a motion presented by NPC Malaysia at the 1999 IPC General Assembly.
APC members are the 43 National Paralympic Committees of the Asian region, who are also members of the International Paralympic Committee.
