Venkaiah Naidu in Serbia: India & Serbia agreed to expand cooperation in economic & cultural fields: Details, Aim, Highlights

Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on 15th September 2018, met Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and held a bilateral discussion with him in Belgrade, Serbia.

India and Serbia have agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of economic and cultural relations. Areas of economic cooperation include agriculture, food processing, defence manufacturing, science and technology, information technology, infrastructure, tourism, and pharmaceuticals. 

India and Serbia exchanged views on multilateral issues and agreed to intensify cooperation in the areas of mutual interest. Naidu in a statement said that they have resolved to fight the scourge of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations at various international fora.

India and Serbia also signed agreements (MoUs) on co-operation in plant health and plant quarantine and strengthening air services between the two countries. 

Vice President also addressed the India -Serbia Business forum where he said that India is poised to become 5 trillion economies by 2025. 

Indian Vice President and Serbian President Aleksander Vucic jointly released the postage stamp of Swami Vivekananda and Nikola Tesla, the great scientist from Serbia to commemorate 70 years of India-Serbia diplomatic relations.
