The Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), which provides poor and vulnerable families coverage for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation was launched in J&K's Jammu on 7th September 2018.
The Jammu & Kashmir state’s Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar inaugurated the pilot launch of the 'AB-PMJAY scheme' at a programme organised by the Directorate of Family Welfare.
J&K Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar proclaimed that the 'AB-PMAY scheme' is aimed at providing portable coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually and a beneficiary covered under the scheme would be allowed to avail cashless benefits from any public and private impaneled hospitals across the country.
Ramesh Kumar also distributed smart cards among the eligible beneficiaries to avail this annual health cover facility.
The AB-PMJAY scheme will be launched across the country on 25th September 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
