Ministry of HRD launched 3rd edition of Smart India Hackathon 2019: Details, Aim, Significance, Benefits

The 3rd edition of world’s biggest open innovation model ‘Smart India Hackathon-2019’ was launched on 29th August 2018 by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi.

The Smart India Hackathon 2019 edition is a nationwide initiative, which aimed at providing students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems faced by people in their daily lives and thus, inculcating a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.

The Smart India Hackathon 2019 will also see students from IISc, IITs, NITs and AICTE/UGC approved institutions compete to creatively solve problems and offer technical solutions.

The Smart India Hackathon 2019 is believed to witness participation from over 1 lakh students from around 3000 institutions across the country.

The Smart India Hackathon 2019 will allow students will get the opportunity to work on challenges faced by the public sector organisations and the union ministries. For the first time, the event will also include problem statements from the private sector and non-governmental organisations.
