Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme will be officially launched on 25th September 2018 on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhya.
Union minister of health and family welfare J P Nadda on 27th August 2018 informed the launching date, where he also launched the logo of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme.
Under the PMJAY scheme, payments will be done cashless and paperless at both public and private paneled hospitals. The services will include 1,350 procedures covering pre and post hospitalisation, diagnostics and medicines.
The PMJAY scheme will cover Rs 5 lakh per family per year. Approximately, 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families shall be covered to claim benefit under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
Under the PMJAY, there is no cap on the number of family members or the age of the members. All existing health conditions are also covered in the scheme.
Under the PMJAY scheme, beneficiaries will be able to move across borders and access the services across India.
