According to new changed rules made by Insurance and Regulatory Authority of India (IRDAI) the treatment of dental, infertility, mental illness etc. will also be included in medical insurance.
As per IRDAI notification issued on 29th August 2018, it has removed nearly 10 items from the list of 'Optional cover'. These include Dental, Stem Cell, Infertility and Psychological Treatment.
Optional Cover mainly consists of diseases of the method which are present at a large scale, but they do not have to recruit in the hospital. Such as Hormone Ripples Therapy, obesity treatment, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and AIDS etc.
At present, these Optimal covering diseases are not covered by health insurance companies but now the insurance companies have the opportunity to re-design their schemes and incorporate these things into them.
IRDAI soon will provide complete information in this regard in the coming days.
