India to buy US 2i aircraft from Japan during PM visit 11 Nov

 

 

India to sign Memorandum of Understanding with Japan to buy US-2i aircraft which costs Rs.10,000 crore during Prime minister visit to Japan

Defence minister Manohar Parriker headed a meeting to discuss the issues relating to buying of this aircraft for Indian navy and coast air guard.

Indian navy has decided to buy six aircraft under government deal between the years 2017 to 2022.

Earlier japan gave the pricing of this aircraft as 11,000 crore but now it has reduced the price to 10000 crore.

Us-2i is powered by four big turbo props and developed by ShinMaywa industries.

It has a range of about 4,700 km and can be landed anywhere in seas or land up to 3 metres.

It also has a long range of civil and military applications.

New Delhi is also building ties with Tokyo to counter the region of Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean.
