IIT-Delhi and All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance research in the field of Ayurveda.
The MoU was signed on sidelines of a two-day conference on ‘Raising towards Excellence’ held at New Delhi.
As of part of MoU, AIIA will invite technological experts from IIT Delhi for research in ancient Indian medicine.
IIT Delhi does not have a medical facility and has lined up 10 projects in Ayurveda research.
It was the idea of Ministry of AYUSH to utilise the technological expertise of IIT Delhi for further research in ancient Indian medicine.
AIIA is a Delhi based supreme institute for Ayurveda in India, established on 10 October 2017. It works under Ministry of AYUSH.
AIIA aims at bringing a synergy between traditional wisdom of Ayurveda and modern tools and technology. It offers postgraduate and doctoral courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda and focuses on fundamental research of Ayurveda, drug development, quality control, standardization, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine.
AIIA also has 200-bed referral hospital for facilitating clinical research.
