India's defence electronics company, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saab for jointly marketing L-Band 3D air surveillance radar (RAWL-03) which is co-developed by the companies.
Saab is a Swedish aerospace and defence firm that serves the global market with world-leading products, services, and solutions in military defence and civil security.
RAWL-03 is long-range air surveillance radar for early detection and tracking of air and surface targets. It can be fitted in both ship-borne and land-based configurations.
RAWL-03 system is based on state-of-the-art GaN TR module technology and incorporates the latest signal processing techniques.
BEL is a state-owned leading defence electronics company of India. It is one of nine PSUs under the Union Ministry of Defence of India.
BEL has been accorded Navratna status. It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
BEL is engaged in design, manufacture, and supply of state-of-the-art radars like weapon locating radar and battlefield surveillance radar, communication systems, naval systems, electronic warfare systems, missile systems, tank electronics and gun/weapon systems, coastal surveillance system etc, for the armed forces.
