India and United Kingdom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the context of Law & Justice and establishing Joint Consultative Committee.
The MoU was signed by Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and UK’s Secretary of State for Justice David Gauke in London.
The MoU aims to boost bilateral cooperation in legal affairs which would provide a framework for promoting greater cooperation between judicial and legal professionals in both countries through the exchange of expertise and training.
The MoU takes care of concerns and requirements in the field of exchange of experience by legal professionals, government functionaries and their training and effective legal aid mechanism for resolution of disputes before various courts, tribunals, etc.
The MoU also proposes the establishment of Joint Consultative Committees.
