Google today on 1st July 2018, celebrates the 372nd birth anniversary of German philosopher and Mathematician's Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz with a Doodle.

German philosopher & Mathematician's Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz was born on 1st July 1646, Leipzig, then Roman Empire (now in Saxony, Germany) to Friedrich Leibniz and Catharina Schmuck. He died at the age of 70 years in Hanover on 14th November 1716.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz was one of the most intelligent minds of his age and became one of the most prolific inventors in the field of mechanical calculators, building on Pascal's calculator and he was the first to describe a pinwheel calculator in 1685.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz designed the Leibniz wheel, used in the arithmometer, the first mass-produced mechanical calculator.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz wrote works on philosophy, politics, law, ethics, theology, history, and philology.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz is also credited for stating the first modern formula for Pi (π)
