We all have merrily celebrated 5th September as Teacher’s Day in our schools/colleges, but do we know why exactly we made 5th September as Teacher’s Day?
5th September 1962 was the first time Teacher’s Day was celebrated in India.
It’s been celebrated in the name of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as in 1962 he started serving as the second President of India and since then his students decided to celebrate this day as Radhakrishnan day 5th September as Teacher’s Day rather than Radhakrishnan Day.
That day was celebrated as Teacher’s Day providing the meaning what teacher means to a student.
Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great philosopher and educationist.
He was the countries Vice President and also honored by The highest civilian Bharat Ratna award in the year 1984.
His values and principles will always inspire the nation to be like him and The man of Honour.
