Derk Segaar of Netherlands has been appointed as the Director of United Nations Information Centre in New Delhi.
Derk Segaar’s appointment is made by the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
Derk Segaar was the chief of the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s office and the head of United Nations Mission in South Sudan’s(UNMISS) Relief ,Reintegration and Protection Section.
During 2011 to 2013, Derk Segaar had been the Head of Communications of the United Nations Office for the coordination of Humanitarian affairs in New York and he looked after the global media and communication activities.
From 2009 to 2011, he worked as the Deputy Chief for the Under-Secretary-General for the office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs including advising on strategic,policy and operational decisions.
