Research: Scientists develop the lightest mechanical watch

Scientists develop the lightest mechanical watch weighs 40 grams

Scientists have developed the world’s lightest mechanical watch which weighs around 40 grams.

The World’s lightest watch is made from the wonder material grapheme and named as RM 50-03 watch.

The University of Manchester developed the strap of watch in UK in partnership with Richard Mille and McLaren F1.

The strap of the watch has been infused with graphene to improve the mechanical properties and the endurance to wear

Graphene is the form of carbon consisting of planar sheets which are only one atom thick and the atoms are arranged in honey-comb shaped lattice.

The grapheme which is used in the watch has an advantage as it helps for improved performance and is lighter in weight.

The newly developed watch is durable and the scientists are hoping to further reduce the weight in future designs.
