India and Sri Lanka sign Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of Rain harvesting systems in Jaffna district.
The memorandum was signed to provide rain water harvesting systems to 3000 households in Jaffna district.
The households will also be provided training relating to maintenance of the system and how to use it.
The project aims to provide clean drinking water facility to all the household
The total cost of the rainwater harvesting project is 300 million Sri Lankan Rupees.
The households will be provided modern rainwater harvesting facilities which includes clean drinking water.
