Army Day celebration in the country, events, functions today on 15th January 2017
Army Day is celebrated every year to mark the appointment of Lieutenant General K.M Cariappa as Commander in Chief.
Every year on 15th January, the country remembers the contribution and sacrifices of Indian Army for the country.
The first Indian commander in Chief Lt Gen KM Cariappa took charge over British commander on 15th January 1949
On this day several events and functions are organised at different parts of the country to mark the sacrifices and contributions of Indian Army.
A special parade is held in New Delhi where all military shows takes place.
The Day marks to salute all the Indian soldiers who leave their family and protect the country.
The day is salutes to all the soldier who lost their lives in protecting the countries from enemies.
