MGNREGA Management Information System (MIS) is not accepting any more work demands or generate musters for workers until they are mentioning their Aadhaar Card number.

The Aadhaar Card and MGNREGA are likely to work hand in hand as certain changes have taken place in the working schemes of MGNREGA under which now citizens possessing Aadhaar numbers will only be permitted to apply.

These changes led to open outbreak by the NGOs since the Supreme Court had earlier passed an order stating that Aadhaar card was not compulsory for all the applicants and the changes in the software are the contempt of the Court.

The Government has clarified this issue by announcing that the applicants for the said scheme are increasing continuously and the enrolment via Aadhaar will help to manage the things in an effective way.
