Aadhaar Card number becomes mandatory for EPFO pensioners

 

 

EPFO makes it mandatory for pensioners to submit Aadhaar Card number

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has made it mandatory for all the pensioners and shareholders to provide the Aadhaar Card number.

Employees Provident Fund Organisation has around 50 million pensioners and four crore shareholders.

The pensioners or shareholders who do not have Aadhaar Card have to submit the proof hat they have applied for Aadhaar card

Employees Provident Fund Organisation has taken the decision to enable the pensioners or the shareholders for social security schemes.

With regard to this, the organisation has issued the notification stating the pensioners and the shareholders to provide the copy of registration of Aadhaar Card till 31st January 2017 to avail the benefit of EPFO schemes.

At the end of the month, the organisation will review the number of pensioners and shareholders and can decide to increase the date to provide 12 digit unique number of Aadhaar card.
