No political party to ask for votes in terms of caste, religion

 

 

Supreme Court has strictly prohibited to ask for votes in terms of cast, creed or religion, after the judgement in Hinduism case

Supreme Court at the hearing stated that the relationship of man and God is personal choice of the person and no political party should ask for votes in terms of religion or caste.

According to the section 123 (3) of the Representation to the people’s RP act, states that it is regarding as the corrupt means to ask for votes in terms of religion, caste or creed.

The person found guilty will be disqualified from elections

The election law states that the person found guilty for asking votes in terms of caste, creed or religion will be disqualified from the elections.

The bench of judges regarded the issue as the secular which must be taken care of.

The seven judge bench of Supreme Court started debating on the issue to whether appeal for votes in terms of religion or not.
