The Supreme Court removes Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke from their posts in BCCi on Monday.
It all started in the year 2013 when the spot fixing scandal broke down at the Indian Premier League.
The Mudgal Committee submitted its report describing the misdeeds relating to Indian Premier League and then the Supreme Court appointed a panel headed by RM Lodha in 2015.
Later on, Lodha Committee also suggested a set of reforms and ordered BCCI to implement but some of the reforms were not passed by BCCI.
But BCCI did not implement the reforms and then Anurag Thakur was asked to file an affidavit explaining why ICC has to interfere in the proceedings but BCCI decided to decline to orders of Lodha panel.
Lodha panel then asked Supreme Court to remove the top posts of BCCI and appoint GK Pillai as an observer of BCCI.
BCCI and Lodha committee’s controversy comes to ends in the start of new year.
