Indian Railways has announced 10% rebate on vacant berths after the finalisation of reservation charts effective from 1st January.
A passenger can get 10% rebate in basic fare to avail the vacant berths in all reserved categories like AC and Sleeper class after the finalisation of charts.
The rebate will be effective for six months starting from 1st January 2017 and the discount will be based on the basic fare of the ticket sold in the train.
All other categories which includes reservation and super-fast will be levied accordingly.
Indian Railways has taken the decision as many seats in the train remain unoccupied in various mail or express trains.
