Viral Acharya appointment as deputy governor of Reserve Bank

 

 

Government appoints Viral Acharya as Deputy governor in Monetary Policy Department in RBI

The Government of India has appointed Viral V. Acharya as the deputy governor of Reserve Bank of India.

Viral Acharya is the professor of Economics in New York University and is now appointed as one of the four deputy governors of RBI.

Viral Acharya  appointed for the tenure of three years after the promotion of Urijit Patel in the governor of RBI

Viral Acharya has the experience in the regulation of banks, corporate finance, credit risk and asset pricing.

Viral Acharya, 42 year old, is the professor at Stern Business School of New York University.

Viral Acharya to oversee the important monetary policy department and research which was earlier headed by Urijit Patel.
