Swachh Swasth Sarvatra is a Union Health Ministry’s initiative which aims to strengthen the health centres in open defecation free blocks.
Union Ministry of Health in collaboration with Ministry of Drinking Water and sanitation and Human Resource Development.
Swachh Swasth Sarvatra aims to strengthen the health centres in 708 open defecation blocks in the country.
The initiative is a part of Swachh Bharat Mission under the National Health Mission focusing on proper sanitation through building toilets and enabling behaviour change.
The Swachh Bharat Mission aims to provide proper sanitation all over the country making it open defecation free by 2nd October 2019.
A financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh is also provided to the various health centres to meet the standards of sanitation, hygiene and infection control.
