Rahul Gandhi on 3rd July 2019 officially resigned as Congress President.
Rahul Gandhi posted his resignation letter on his twitter handle and said 'it was an honor for him to serve the congress party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of the nation.
Rahul Gandhi in his resignation he was responsible for his Congress' defeat in Lok Sabha elections. He said, accountability is critical for the future growth of Congress and therefore, he is resigning as party president.
Now, Motilal Vora, the senior-most General Secretary of Congress Party has been named as the interim Congress President.
Motilal Vora will be the interim Congress Chief until the next meeting of the Congress Working Committee, as per the Congress Constitution.
After Rahul Gandhi being president, it is believed, Sonia Gandhi or Motilal Vohra or Priyanka Gandhi could be the President for Congress Party.
