Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018
Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal have bagged the ‘Silver Medal’ for India, in the squash mixed doubles competition on the 10th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games competition on 14th April 2018.
The Indian squash pair, Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal lost their match against Australia’s Donna Urquhart and Cameron Pilley 0-2 (8-10, 10-11) in the finals.
Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal had earlier defeated New Zealand’s Joelle King and Paul Coll 2-1 (9-11, 11-8, 11-10) in a keenly-contested match to enter the final.
Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal, however, failed to repeat their semi-final feat on finals. After losing the first set 8-11.
Dipika Pallikal has still another chance to win ‘Gold’ as she will now pair with her compatriot ‘Joshna Chinappa’, will face New Zealand’s Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy in women’s doubles final on 15th April 2018 in the CWG-2018 event.
Dipika Pallikal (26 years old) who hails from Chennai is a wife of famous Indian cricket player, Dinesh Karthik.
Dipika Pallikal received several National & International Awards. She is also a proud recipient of Arjuna Award (2012) and Padma Shri (2014) accorded by Government of India.
Saurav Ghosal (31 years old) who hails from Kolkata is married to Dipika Pallikal sister Divya Pallikal. He too had won several International games medal & awards.
