CWG 2018: Sumit Malik Bags 24th Gold Medal For India in 125 Kg Freestyle Wrestling Event

Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018

Sumit Malik has bagged the 24th Gold Medal for India, on the tenth day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in the men's freestyle 125 kg category of wrestling competition on 14th April 2018.

Indian Young Wrestler Sumit Malik (25 years old) achieved the feat after his opponent Nigeria’s Sinivie Boltic walked out of the final due to an injury in the men’s freestyle 125 Kg competition in the CWG-2018 event.

Canada’s Korey Jarvis achieved the ‘Silver Medal’ while Pakistan’s Tayab Raza managed to get the ‘Bronze Medal’.

Earlier, Sumit Malik who hails from Haryana had also won ‘Silver Medals’ in 2017 Asian Wrestling Championships and then in 2017 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.
