Vikas Krishan has bagged the 21th ‘Gold Medal’ for India, on the 10th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in the Men's 75 kg category of boxing competition on14th April 2018.
Vikas Krishan (26 years old) achieved the feat against Cameroon’s Dieudonne Wilfried Seyi Ntsengue in the finals.
Vikas Krishan won by a 5:0 unanimous verdict against Ntsengue in a close compact match which witnessed both the boxers have won the bout before the referee's verdict.
Each of the five judges awarded 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28 points in favor of Vikas Krishan at the end of all 3 rounds.
Indian Boxer, Vikas Krishan who hails from Haryana, it was his first medal at the CWG.
Earlier, Vikas Krishan had won ‘Gold Medal’ in the Lightweight category defeating Hu Qing of China at the 2010 Asian Games held in China and many other victories.
Vikas Krishan received Arjuna Award from the Government of India in the year 2012.
