CWG-2018: Seema Punia Bags Silver Medal For India While Navjeet Kaur Dhillon Bagged Bronze Medal in Discus Throw Event

Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018

Seema Punia has bagged the ‘Silver Medal’ for India, in the women's discus throw athletics competition on the 8th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games on 12th April 2018.

Navjeet Kaur Dhillon also bagged ‘Bronze Medal’ in the women's discus throw athletics competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games on 12th April 2018.

Indian Discus thrower Seema Punia (34 years old) who hails from Haryana came up with a best effort of 60. 41m, which she did in her opening attempt to win her fourth successive CWG medal

Navjeet Kaur Dhillon (23 years old) who hails from Punjab achieved the ‘Bronze Medal’ with her final throw of 57. 43m.

Seema Punia had 59. 57m in her second throw and fouled her third and fifth attempts while coming up with a 58. 54m in between she had a final throw of 58. 90m.

Seema Punia, who was competing in her final CWG, was, though, well below her best. She has a season's best of 61. 05m which she did while winning the gold in the Federation Cup National Championships last month.

Seema Punia has a personal best of 64. 84m which achieved long time back in 2004.

Seema Punia has been the most decorated Indian track and field athlete in the Commonwealth Games history, delivering a medal each time she has represented the country in the quadrennial event.

Seema Punia in the 2006 edition in Melbourne, she won a 'Silver Medal' and also had been on the podium in 2010 with (Silver) and 2014 with (Bronze).
