Anish Bhanwala has bagged the 16th ‘Gold Medal’ for India, on the Ninth day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in the men's 25-Metre Rapid Fire Pistol shooting competition at the Belmont Shooting Centre on 13th April 2018.
Young Indian shooter, Anish Bhanwala (15 years old) who hails from Karnal, Haryana, clinched his maiden ‘Gold Medal’ by making a CWG record in the final with a score of 30 including four series of 5 each.
Australia's Sergei Evglevski has won the ‘Silver Medal’ with a score of 28, after a tough fight with Anish.
England’s Sam Gowin claimed the ‘Bronze Medal’ with a score of 17.
India's other shooter, Neeraj Kumar scored a total of 13, was the second shooter to be eliminated in the finals.
Anish Bhanwala in the qualification round had scored 580 to finish top of the tally while Neeraj Kumar was second best with 579.
Anish Bhanwala scored 286 in stage 1 and 294 in stage 2 qualifying, while Neeraj had 291 in stage 1 and 288 in stage 2.
