Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018
Tejaswini Sawant has bagged the ‘Silver Medal’ for India, on the 8th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in the women's 50-Metre Rifle Prone competition held at the Belmont Shooting Centre on 12th April 2018.
Tejaswini Sawantshot 102.1, 102.4, 103.3, 102.8, 103.7 and 104.6 over six series in the finals to clinch her sixth Commonwealth medal.
Tejaswini Sawant achieved the feat by scoring a cumulative score of 618.9 points to finish at the second spot.
Singapore’s Martina Lindsay Veloso has bagged the ‘Gold Medal’ with a total score of 621 points.
Scotland's Seonaid Mcintosh settled for a ‘Bronze Medal’ after posting a total score of 618.1 points.
Indian Anjum Moudgil claimed 16th position after shooting a total score of 602.2 points in the same CWG-2018 shooting event.
Indian Female Shooters Tejaswini Sawant and Anjum Moudgil will also represent India in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event on Friday.
Earlier, Tejaswini Sawant (37 years old) who hails from Kolhapur, Maharashtra had won ‘Silver’ in Women's 50 Rifle Prone Singles and ‘Bronze’ in Women's 50 m Rifle prone pairs (along with Meena Kumari) in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi.
Tejaswini Sawant had also won ‘Silver Medal’ in Women's 50 m Rifle 3 positions event (along with Lajjakumari Goswami) in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi.
