Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018
Ankur Mittal has bagged the ‘Bronze Medal’ for India, on the 7th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in the men's double trap shooting competition held at the Belmont Shooting Centre on 11th April 2018.
Ankur Mittal has achieved the feat by scoring total shots of 53 points after ten target shots for his first (maiden) CWG medal.
Scotland’s McMath scored shots of 74 points to finish at the top place for ‘Gold Medal’ making a record score in the double trap in CWG.
The Isle of Man’s Tim McNeale claimed ‘Silver Medal’ with a total score of 70 points.
Mohammad Ashab, another Indian shooter finished fourth in the six-shooter final.
Earlier, Indian top shotgun shooter, Ankur Mittal (26 years old) who hails from Haryana had won ‘Gold Medal’ in the double trap in 2017 Commonwealth Shooting Championships in Brisbane.
In 2017, Ankur Mittal had also won one ‘Gold Medal’ and two ‘Silver Medals’ in the men’s double trap at ISSF World Cup (Shot Gun) events in Acapulco, Mexico.
