CWG 2018: Pradeep Singh Bags Silver Medal For India In 105kg Weightlifting Competition

Commonwealth Games-2018 also known as Gold Coast 2018 was inaugurated on 4th April 2018 at Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, It has to be held from 4th April to 15 April 2018

Pradeep Singh has bagged the ‘Gold Medal’ for India, on the 5th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games, in the men's 105kg category of weightlifting held at the Carrara Sports Arena 1 on 9th April 2018.

Indian weightlifter Pradeep Singh achieved his debut best by lifting a total of 352kg weight to finish second in the competition.

Pradeep Singh (22 years old) who hails from Jalandhar, Punjab has lifted 52 kg in snatch and 200 kg in clean & jerks making a total of 352 kg of weight.

Samoa's weightlifter Sanele Mao claimed his best by lifting a total of 360 kg weight (154kg in snatch and 206 kg in clean & jerk) to finish 1st claiming ‘Gold Medal’ in the event.

England weightlifter Owen Boxall finished third with a total lift of 351kg (152kg in snatch and 199kg in clean & jerks).

Indian weightlifters so far have won 5Golds Medals, 2Silver Medals and 2Bronze Medals in the CWG-2018 competition.
