Rajnikant Mishra becomes the new chief of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The decision was taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on 18 September 2017.
Rajnikant Mishra is a 1984 Batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS who has been posted as special Director General in Border Security Force (BSF) since 2012.
Rajnikant Mishra will succeed Archana Ramasundaram who is set to retire on 30 September 2017.
Sashatra Seema Bal is known for it's support to Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). SSB has also had responsibility to infuse nationalism in people living in international border areas.
The need for SSB like unit required to set up by the government just after the infamous Indo-Sino war debacle in 1962.
Rajnikant Mishra has new responsibilities to serve after his successful tenure at BSF.
