According to the survey results for Swachh Survekshan 2018, Madhya Pradesh’s Indore remained at the position of India’s cleanest city.
According to the Swachh Survekshan 2018, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh has been ranked as India's second cleanest city for two years in a row and Chandigarh was ranked as the third cleanest city, moving up from Rank 11 in 2017.
Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad placed a special mention as the fastest moving big city of the Swachh Survekshan -2018, moving up to 36th Rank from the previous 351st, in 2017.
Jharkhand State has been declared as the best-performing state, followed by Maharashtra, in Swachh Survekshan-2018.
The survey results for Swachh Survekshan 2018 were announced by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri on 16th May 2018.

Best city in Innovation and Best Practices: Nagpur
Best city in Solid Waste Management: Navi Mumbai
North Zone: Bhalso, Punjab
East Zone: Bundu, Jharkhand
North-East Zone: Kakching, Manipur
South Zone: Siddipet, Telangana
West Zone: Panchgani, Maharashtra
Swachh Survekshan 2018, is the first pan Indian exercise to assess cleanliness in urban India, surveyed 4,203 cities from 4th January 2018 to 10th March 2018.
Earlier, Swachh Survekshan had surveyed 434 Indian cities in the year 2017.
