Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi on 22 September 2017, has announced that ex-gratia amount given to the kin of policemen killed on duty will be doubled to Rs 50 lakh.
This includes Rs 40 lakh (up from Rs 20 lakh) given to the family of slain policemen and Rs 10 lakh (up from Rs five lakh) given to their parents.
The Chief Minister Adityanath has paid tributes to slain personnel at Police Lines in Lucknow on the Occasion of Police Commemoration Day.
On the Occasion, Adityanath said that, pay tribute to the police officials, who lost their lives on duty.
They have contributed a lot to the welfare of the state and state government will always stand by their family and is taking necessary steps in their interests.
The Number of commendable medals for all the units of the police department, has also been increased from 200 to 950, said CP Yogi.
CM Yogi also called for a campaign to make UP crime and corruption free and praised the work of Special Task Force (STF) and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
The CM YOGI also said that around the 545 encounters took place between criminal and police in which 22 criminal were killed as recounting the achievement of UP police.
